Thanksgiving Break!

Today is a lazy Wednesday. I haven't done anything since being on the holiday. I don't even have to cook tomorrow. I am going over to some good friends house for dinner. The only thing I have to "cook" is two Pecan Pies. It is going to be an easy day. I don't have any new pictures to post, but I would like to offer a bit of advice about eating. Everyone knows they like to overeat and gorge themselves on sweets during the holidays, but you can have a bit of everything if you eat in moderation. I have never had to diet because I try not to overeat. I only eat until I am 80% full, and if I don't eat my dessert first, then I do not eat it at all.

People will look at you as if you are crazy if you ask for dessert first, so I just don't ask. The majority of the time I have eaten too much dinner, so there is really never enough room for dessert. Find out what works best for you, but if you eat in moderation, you do not have to worry about gaining those extra holiday pounds. It doesn't hurt to take a long walk before or after dinner. Another way to maintain that figure is to put on some music and dance! Enjoy the holiday!

Natural Girls Rock!

Good Morning!

What a wonderful event I went to yesterday!. Natural Girls and Women do rock! It was well organized, lively with spoken word (wished I had known), and live entertainment from a dynamic performer. The vendors had beautiful displays and the products were well worth the price. Yesterday, I posted a picture of two dresses I wanted to wear. Well, below you can see my choice.

Enjoy.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures! Hopefully you can attend the next event that happens. I would really like to see more representation from our mature women. There were a few of us there, but not enough. Maybe women 45 and above do not like to attend these events. Hey, these events are informational, and it give us a chance to network with the young women who are doing it! I am so proud of my young sisters who are embracing their beautiful selves. Keep up the good work.

Hello,

I am up and chilling out for the weekend. Today, I will attend a holiday party called Natural Girls Rock.I was not able to attend last year,so this year should be fun. I wish my Honey was here, but he to leave for a few days.......back tomorrow. For now, I am going out and enjoy myself. I have two dresses to choose from. I will post pictures, and you can let me know if I made the right choice. Look for the pics below.

 Dress: Bebe Store
 Booties: Cynthia Rowley (TJ Maxx)

Dress: Fubu
Shoes: Anne Klein Couture (vintage)

I wore the above dress in a recent fashion show. The dress fit so perfectly, I decided to purchase it. I really do believe I will wear the top dress. That function was the first and last time I have worn it. I am going to wear the above dress to another function with my Honey.

Who says women in their 50's can't look and feel good. We are a new generation of women. We came up in the late 60's, the 70's and the 80's where we participated in sports in high school. We continue to strive to be our best and look our best. We are participating in many activities that keep us healthy. If you are on the right track to wellness, let me hear from you.

HELLO

I have not been here in quite some time. I  have been in a funk and haven't felt like writing. There are so many things I want to relate, but I know I need to find a topic and stick to it. Well, my blog is titled "fit foxy fifty". Yes, I am 50 years old. That is what I should be writing about. What it is like to be 53, to be exact in a world of PYT's.''

New York ca. 1985

I have always taken care of my body. For as long as I can remember I have been an athlete. Sometimes that is more of a bane than a boon.....if you get my drift. Being an athlete at such a young age has left me with aches and pains I thought I would never experience. I chalk it up to age, and years and years of rollerskating. So if there are any mature and young Natualista's out there who need a word from the wise.....please ask me. I look forward to hearing from you.
