This was my first event, but I guarantee you this is just the start. I had a blast hosting this event. My next event is going to be a meet-up for Naturalistas! It is time another one is held in Lawrenceville.

The authors were supberb. I bought a book by each author. The presenters names were:

A'ndrea J. Wilson, Norlita Brown, Margaret Johnson Hodge, Nicki Monroe, and Marian Thomas. There was also a poet who was very shy and did not want his picture taken. His mother is Norlita Brown, and after hearing their story, I wanted to read more. Please look for them on the internet, and purchase their books. Let me know how you like the books.

Hello, It's My Family Reunion!

It has been weeks since I have been here! I have missed everyone and I look forward to chatting with you, but I would really like to hear from you as well! I have been living and enjoying my life. I had the honor of hosting part of my family reunion in my home the weekend of July 20-22. My cousin kicked the reunion off at her house Friday, July 20, and I hosted Sunday July 22.

I also had the honor of hosting a meet and greet between fans, and five authors. A fantastic book reading was held at SoJe Emporium in downtown Lawrenceville, and it was a resounding hit! I will be posting pictures.

Naturalistas in the ATL at Moods Music

A lot of black women are moving away from chemically straightening their hair. I am one of those as well. I went to a meet and greet with Leela James. Every woman who came in except one were perm free. Go naturalistas!

Moods Music Meet and Greet with Leela James (Revisit)

 

This is a revisit. I met Leela James two years ago at Moods Music. She has blown up since then. All I can say is more power to her! 

I had the pleasure of meeting Leela James! I have seen her videos on the Soul of VH I, but it was great to meet her. She is so down to earth, I wish I knew her personally. Here are some pictures that I took of her.

The young women set it up, and did the online streaming. Leela performed her ASS off last night in Centennial Park. Pictures will follow.

Fort Yargo State Park

It was finally cool enough (91 degrees) for us to visit the lake. The water was very warm, but still refreshing. There were not many people there which made it even more enjoyable. Tuesday was a great day to go. Make sure you ALWAYS wear sunblock!

I like to keep the sun off of my face as much as possible to diminish damage. I purchased this wonderful hat from Marshall's, which has built in sunblock in the material. The bathing suit came from Newport News, and is called Shape Efx. I purchased the whole outfit for under $25.00!
